When the truth comes out

I normally never post any personal posts on my blog, but couldn't help it this time. So, here comes a cross post from my fellow MVP Bill Ryan. This is for those of you who wonder what Charles Carroll's been up to lately. It seems inline code boy has been busy.

Pretty cool idea

If I could make a comment on this paragraph....

"Perhaps you'll also let us know that you're now a convicted criminal after pleading guilty to assaulting a Microsoft MVP. It looks like you have no problem trashing the program and assaulting its participants"

Wow, "Assault on an MVP".  Isn't that a federal offense?  Did the judge ask, "Do plead guilty on the charges of assaulting a Microsoft MVP?"  You do realize that is punishable by a maximum 20 years hard labor at Apple?

I also started thinking about the last sentence in the paragraph "Trashing the program and assualting its participants".  Made me wonder... was it just one MVP, or is he going on a streak of violence, taking out one MVP at a time?  How many MVPs has he assaulted so far?  Oh man, I did take that karate class a few years back, but I am a bit rusty? Should I bring a bodyguard to the MVP Summit? I guess that I will sleep with one eye open from now on.

David,

:) So far he's assaulted one MVP. But in the past, he's been quick to trash the MVP program and Microsoft on baseless claims.

Thanks for the clarification Ryan, I was getting a bit worried for a minute.  I am a coder not a fighter. Now I can cancel that new alarm system that I bought for the house.

Then again, it really just starts with one MVP.  The next thing you know, you are going to user group meetings looking for other MVPs to beat up on. Before you know it, you are at the MVP Summit yelling "Who wants a piece of this!?!"

Ryan I love you..  You rock...  :)  I gave it some thought and I think this whole series of events is tantamount to throwing unfiltered cigarrettes at a man dying of lung cancer: primarily the cancer of terminal Narcissism. As you read the definition, I'm rushing out to buy my own asbestos thong, lest I myself become an official enemy as well. ;)

The definition of Narcissism is as follows - let's see if there is any truth in it:

Narcissism (rather, pathological narcissism) is the absence of a functioning self (or, to be more precise, ego).

It is the constant dependence upon other people to gain self esteem, to regulate a sense of self worth and to gain self confidence.

Narcissism is, therefore, other-absorption rather than self-absorption.

The Narcissist is attuned to input (real or perceived) from other people because in the absence of such constant feedback it feels annulled, non-existent, void (and in many respects, he is). I use he, though everything I say here applies equally forcefully to women.

The Narcissist constructs an elaborate, largely fictitious, grandiose image of himself (the "False Self"). He then hurls it at people and monitors their every reaction. Reactions that conform to the information contained in the False Self generate a flooding sensation of omnipotence, omniscience, brilliance and perfection.

Reactions that negate the False Self cause narcissistic injury - a terrible, insupportable, excruciating agony. The Narcissist administers mental painkillers to himself by discounting ("devaluing") the source of the hurtful reaction, by dismissing the reaction itself, or by altering the False Self to conform to it - in short, by activating a mechanism known as "cognitive dissonance".

************ So there you have it.  disease... disorder..  chaos... destruction.  Maybe Bono and his ilk can form a foundation for the irradication of rampant narcissism...... and maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt :)

Excellent Dana. Charles reaction to me will be the following most likely:

1) Ryan's a liar
2) Ryan has a mental disorder
3) All lies. It's all lies.

That's typical Charles. Blaming others for his problems and not admitting when he's wrong.

Ryan, I think you've had a response from my CuckooBot on my phone before right?  Well, I'm going to right a CharlesBot aka the MarkBrownBot tonight.  It will ramble on "Lies, Lies, Lies, Bill Never Met Me, Bill Never Met me, Ryan is unstable, blah blah blah".

What sickens me most isn't Mark/Charles himself so much as the people that defend him. I wonder how folks like Peter would respond if it was *their* wife or daughter on the receiving end of Charles' crap.

Hey, Charles Carroll (Mark Brown)'s arrest and eviction will be part of public record soon right?  We definitely need to link to those - then we'll see how he tries to spin them as 'lies'.

HAHA. Nope. I think I bypassed the CuckooBot.

I'd think the eviction and assault would be part of public record for the city of Falls Church, VA.

Bill said:

Hmmm, I wonder how he didn't detect you.  You are on the list.  Basically, he responds with an SMS message and you can respond to it. At that point, it'll send me special notifications so that Iknow someone important is trying to call.

So The Mark Brown bot will do essentially the same. Any time you or i blog something, it will sent out effectively the same silly rant to whatever Yahoo Group Peter is in.  Then, we can get the barrage of typical comments "I thought the P in MVP stood for professional" or "You never even met Charles" or whatever the Yahoo CircleJerks decide on for that post.

Honestly, the AI to completely simulate Charles would be quite simple to implement.  Hell, I could do it with an array ("I make 14k a year", "I was the first MVP and I turned it down", "Lies Lies Lies", "I got screwed by" etc)

Sounds like the Charles I know. He blames everyone else for his actions, but never admits he's done wrong. Maybe we could have him committed? I think under any state law, he qualifies as a nut.

# January 23, 2007 3:25 PM

Ryan Olshan said:

Excellent Charles H8R. Charles is so messed up that he thinks the reason I got my MVP award and job at Thycotic is all because of him. He didn't play any significant role like he claims. He may of suggested my name to Ben Miller for the MVP award and I did post my resume via his AspNetMetroArea group, but I did all the hard work to get where I am, not him. It got so bad that at one point he got mad at me because I refused to kiss his ass and write a blog entry thanking him for all he's done for me in regards to getting me the MVP award and a job at Thycotic.

Then there's the matter of the C# class of his I went to. I didn't want to go and he begged me. I had never met him before, so I was reluctant to go meet a perfect stranger, especially one who people have shown this level of dislike for. So, in an effort to coax me to go, he told me he wouldn't make me pay for the class or my airfare. He was tacky enough when we split to demand that I pay him for the airfare and class. His class was so bad that I felt awful for those that paid. It was so bad that I offered to speak in front of his class on .NET Generics and did so for over an hour so that those that paid got something useful out of it. You don't see me demanding that I be reimbursed for teaching his class.

Then there was the volunteer work I did for him, which included running his volunteer server team and other coding tasks. He'd get mad when I didn't devote 100% of my free time to him. On one incident, he threw a fit because I was moderating the ASP.NET forums instead of doing unpaid volunteer work for him.

So, that goes to show you what type of person Charles is. He's a user and abuser, and as Dana pointed out, most likely narcissistic among other things. Too bad his current followers can't see past his lies as he continues to brainwash them.

# January 23, 2007 4:58 PM

Ryan Olshan said:

And to top it all off, he claims he's the one who taught me C#. If you've seen his code, there's no more explanation needed. I'd be a pretty crappy coder if that was the case.

So it is true he got evicted?  What a bum!  How old is he?  Old enough to pay rent no doubt.  I'm starting to think the truth about Mark Brown is that old man brown made Chaz change his name b/c he didn't want associated with him as opposed to the other way around. i know if my kid grew up to be that much of a loser, I'd want it like that.  And that's what Chaz is, a LOSER.  A crybaby.  A deadbeat and a ***.

Yup. He got evicted for not paying his rent. According to http://www.markbrown.com  ... oops... I mean http://www.charlescarroll.com , he's 43 years old.
