    Most Active Users

I've been wondering about the " Most Active Users" box on the right-hand column, or specifically about the numbers in parenthesis next to the names.  What exactly are they measuring?

Most Active Users is calculated using the number of posts you have made over a 30 day period in which the original poster or a member with Mark As Answer permissions has clicked the Mark As Answer button.

Woops. I just gave you an explanation for Top Answerers. Most Active Users is calculated using the total number of posts a user has made over a 24 hour period.

    Re: Most Active Users

And while we are on the subject of Top Answerers, that needs a bit more clarification also.

My Top Answerer value just jumped from 5 to 11.  Now, on the whole, I have no problem with this (particularly as the end of the month and prize assignment is approaching), but I'm still a bit confused.  It does seem a bit odd the suddenly six people realized that I'd answered their questions (particularly since I wrote only one message in the last week that might be considered an answer to a question) .  Is this tally done by an infrequently run off-line process?  Or do moderators go through old messages and mark them answered in lieu of the original poster doing so?

Also, I see where threads with answers are marked, but is there any way to see way actual message with marked as the answer?

Also, it did just occur to me that I probably should mark your previous response to me as answering my question, but that doesn't appear to be an option. Am I missing something, or is that feature enabled by section?

Right now the moderators are going through and marking posts that are answers as answered. The reason you noticed it jump is because the stored procedure that calculated the totals for Top Answerers isn't being run for some reason as part of a bigger system stored procedure, so I have to run it by hand.

There is currenly no indicator for that, but I could build something into the forums.

Most forums, but not all of them with this being one of them, have that feature enabled.

For some reason the stored procedure that updates the top answerers never saved with the stored procedure that updates stats on this site. I just updated the stored procedure to include it and it's now updating top answerers automatically.
